A Guide to Caring For Your Footwear
---
UPPERS Leather uppers should be maintained in the same manner as a dress shoe. Clean with a terry cloth before applying thin coats of polish and buffing to a shine with a soft cloth. Leather uppers which have been waterproofed should be maintained by regularly cleaning with a damp cloth and polishing occasionally with a water-based wax polish. Synthetic Uppers require mild soap and water only. Solvent-based cleaners and polishes should be avoided, but if dirt persists clean gently with a mild soap and water. Mink oil or Silicone spray can be used to enhance the water resistance of a shoe.

SPIKES Soft Spikes are standard at most courses now. There are a variety of types available and most shoes are fitted with high quality spikes. Dirt builds up very quickly in and around them, so it is essential to clean out the soles of your shoes regularly during a round. This will ensure your shoes maintain maximum grip.
|
BETWEEN ROUNDS Let shoes dry naturally, never expose them to artificial heat. Alternate shoes if you are going to play two days in a row. Shoe trees will enhance the fit of your shoe and keep them from distorting when exposed to moisture.

GORE-TEX Shoes with Gore-Tex¨ lining are made in either insulated and non-insulated styles. For cooler weather, the insulated style is recommended and the un-insulated for warmer weather. Take reasonable precautions when you encounter sharp objects, these can puncture your shoes and make your warranty ineffective.
