PING i540 Irons - Graphite Shaft

The PING i540 Irons (Graphite Shaft) are packed with score-lowering innovations. It features weight savings from a lighter and shallower face and covered cavity, allowing for tungsten weighting to be placed inside the club along the sole of the 4-7 irons. This lowers the CG, leading to increased ball speed and a higher launch angle for better stopping power. The forged, variable-thickness maraging-steel face is 9% thinner for more flexing and creates metal-wood-like bending in the transition areas (sole and top), resulting in faster ball speeds and higher max height.

inR-Air Technology

This patent-pending technology by PING relies on an airbag strategically placed behind the face inside the cavity that attenuates frequencies for improved sound and feel without restricting bending. The molecular compound of the TPU insert was chosen for its ability to maintain pressurisation and underwent extensive testing, including temperature, environmental, elevation and air travel.

i-Beam Technology

It adds structural support to the 17-4 stainless steel body and contributes to improved sound and feel. The metal-wood-like construction features a beam that extends across the cavity to add structure for an improved feel.
