Callaway 2025 ERC Soft and Supersoft Golf Balls

Posted by GolfBox on 10th Jan 2025

Callaway have announced a 2025 upgrade for the softest balls in their line-up: the Callaway ERC Soft and Callaway Supersoft.

Both models are extremely popular because of their soft feel. The Supersoft is marshmallowy soft. The ERC Soft is slightly firmer but in the overarching golf ball matrix, can still be considered soft.

While they’re never going to have the spin or speed of Callaway’s Chrome Tour range, the latest generation of the ERC Soft and Supersoft is the best the balls have ever been.

The key takeaway is the new 2025 ERC Soft and Supersoft are both longer and faster without relinquishing any of their signature softness.

NEW HYPER ELASTIC SOFTFAST CORE AND HYBRID COVER

Callaway weren’t interested in boosting speed in the ERC Soft and Supersoft by sacrificing their trademark soft feel. To avoid a trade-off, they turned to the Hyper Elastic SoftFast Core seen in the Chrome Tour range. Callaway adapted it to replicate the unique feel and performance profile of both the ERC Soft and Supersoft balls.

The new core generates more speed at the same compression. In other words, golfers will pick up more distance while retaining the soft feel the balls are renowned for. The speed gains are most noticeable in the driver and longer clubs.

However, juicy greenside feel and spin has also been added to the new models via a new hybrid cover.  Featuring multi-material construction, the new cover contributes more grip and spin around the green while also boosting the balls’ high-launch/low-spin long game qualities.

2025 CALLAWAY ERC SOFT GOLF BALL

The 2025 Callaway ERC Soft is a three-layer ball that will complement a wide range of swing speeds and handicaps.

It features a mantle layer between the core and cover which creates a more efficient transfer of energy at impact. The extra layer helps the ERC Soft generate more ball speed at the top end of the bag compared to the Supersoft, while also generating extra greenside spin with the wedges.

The ERC Soft also features a hard-wearing ionomer cover instead of the grabbier and softer urethane cover seen in Callaway’s tour-calibre balls. However, Callaway pull off a neat trick. They spray the ERC Soft’s cover with a GRIP urethane coating to provide more stopping power and a softer feel on short shots around the green.

The ERC Soft is available in white and yellow Truvis and Triple Track models.

Golfers love Callaway’s Supersoft. It’s one of the softest golf balls on the market and the new edition offers the same marshmallowy feel. But there’s a side serving of extra speed in the new 2025 Callaway Supersoft.

The two-piece golf ball has been made faster without making it firmer. It features a hybrid cover that provides an uptick in greenside spin by prolonging the length of time the ball is in contact with the clubhead. It won’t spin as much as the ERC Soft or any of Callaway’s Chrome Tour range but it will spin more than the previous Supersoft.

The 2025 Supersoft is available in the standard white, yellow, green, red, orange, pink and red and Splatter models.
