CALLAWAY EPIC HYBRID – BRED FROM THE BEST

Start with a pinch of Callaway Epic iron technology, mix in some Callaway Epic fairway wood expertise and you get the new Callaway Epic hybrid.

CALLAWAY EPIC HYBRID

Designed to replace problematic long irons that can be a bit of a menace to hit, the Callaway Epic hybrid is a fusion of the groundbreaking Epic iron and Epic fairway wood technology pioneered by Callaway.

Shoe-horning all that technological brilliance into the Callaway Epic hybrid has delivered a club that is more forgiving, easier to launch and produces faster ball speeds off the clubface.

CALLAWAY EPIC HYBRID – THE TECHNOLOGY

The Callaway Epic hybrid uses a crown made from the same triaxial carbon fibre used in Callaway’s GBB Epic and Epic Sub Zero drivers and fairway woods.

Weighing just 5g, the crown is Callaway’s lightest and thinnest ever produced. A reduction of mass in the crown means weight can be distributed to other areas inside the clubhead, to lower the centre of gravity and make the Epic hybrid extremely easy to launch.

The ability to shift this weight saved in the crown to more advantageous areas sees the Epic hybrid utilise the MIM Tungsten weighting technology found in Callaway Epic irons.

With Tungsten being 1.8 times denser than steel, intricately shaped internal components are manufactured using the MIM (Metal Injected Moulding) process, where a powdered Tungsten and steel blend is baked at 2500 degrees for up to 41 hours.

This precisely shaped MIM’ed Tungsten is robotically laser-welded low in the Epic hybrid’s sole (concentrated within what Callaway call the Internal Standing Wave) to optimise the CG for a high launch-low spin ball flight, to maximise distance gains.

Also borrowed from Callaway Epic fairway wood is the ultra-thin face cup technology that pushes the Epic Hybrid’s COR to the limit. Made of 455 forged steel, the Callaway Epic hybrid’s face cup features a thinner rim which helps the clubface flex more at impact and produces a spike in ball speed from both centre and off-centre strikes, particularly from strikes low on the clubface.

The Callaway Epic Hybrid’s features are all sculpted around a precision-milled club frame that spreads weight around its perimeter to increase MOI and keep the CG low and deep within the clubhead.

A low friction sole with two elevated rails helps the mid-sized Epic hybrid slide effortlessly through the turf at impact, rather than digging in and chunking the surface.
