Cobra AEROJET Drivers, Fairways, Hybrids and Irons

Posted by GolfBox on 22nd Feb 2023

You don’t need a PhD in aerodynamics to appreciate what Cobra have been cooking up in their new AEROJET range. On appearances alone, the AEROJET line-up looks fast. And if something looks fast, it usually is fast.

Park a Lambo next to a Kia Carnival and you’ll immediately sense which one is built for speed and which one is made for dropping the kids off to school.

Flowing curves and a streamlined profile project aerodynamic speed. And chasing an aerodynamically efficient shaping is exactly how Cobra have injected more speed into the AEROJET line-up of Drivers, Fairway Woods, Hybrids and Irons for 2023.

You don’t need to know how they achieved it, although we suspect a rigorous program of wind tunnel testing and air flow simulation probably played a significant role.

But you do need to know that Cobra’s AEROJET range is faster through the air and, therefore, faster and longer for everyone.

AEROJET Drivers are faster through the air and longer thanks to an aerodynamically efficient head shape.

AEROJET fairways and hybrids offer elite distance, forgiveness and versatility in three customised models.

AEROJET Irons are laden with distance-enhancing tech, all wrapped up in a sleek head profile.

COBRA AEROJET DRIVERS

Cobra’s AEROJET driver ushers in a new era of speed with an aerodynamic head shape that is the most efficient in the game. Featuring the lowest drag coefficient of any Cobra driver, the AEROJET slips through the air with minimal resistance to maximise club head speed where it counts.

And where it counts is at impact, with every mph of clubhead speed translating to about 2.5 yards of extra distance on average.

AEROJET drivers extract distance out of every ounce of energy. And the faster you swing the driver, the greater the AEROJET advantage becomes. Add in the A.I. designed H.O.T. face and suspended internal weight bridge and it’s simple to see why driving the golf ball long and straight is easy armed with an AEROJET driver.

Driver Technology

Cobra Aerojet Drivers Tech - Aero Shaping

Aerodynamic Shaping

Across all three driver models, a seamless aerodynamic design is adapted to deliver faster swing speeds where it counts for more distance off the tee.

Cobra Aerojet Drivers - PWR-Bridge Weight

PWR-BRIDGE Weighting

Cobra’s suspended weight bridge, located low and forward within the head, enables unrestricted face flexibility for maximum energy transfer and fast ball speeds.

Cobra Aerojet Drivers Tech -HOT Face

PWRSHELL with H.O.T. Face

Cobra’s PWRSHELL face cup is united with a new A.I. designed H.O.T. (highly optimised topology) face, optimising smash factor and speed across a larger area of the face.

THREE AEROJET DRIVERS

Cobra’s new driver line-up for 2023 – the AEROJET, AEROJET LS and AEROJET MAX – promises to leave no-one behind. The options are bountiful and individual preferences are accommodated at every turn – there’s an AEROJET driver tailored to just about every swing in golf.

AEROJET DRIVER

The standard AEROJET driver is the most versatile in the line-up, designed for both pros on tour and anyone searching for high-launching forgiveness in their big dog. A 12g sole weight on the rear of the head dials in optimal launch and promotes high stability, balanced with the aero speed gains of the slippery new head design.

AEROJET LS DRIVER

Conceived to provide maximum workability and low-spinning/low-launching performance, the AEROJET LS is suited to faster swing speeds and lower handicappers. Featuring a forward centre of gravity, the LS’ two sole weights (12g and 3g) can be positioned to create either a neutral or fade-biased ball flight.

AEROJET MAX DRIVER

The MAX is the most forgiving long driver in the AEROJET range and it’s also draw-bias capable. Two sole weights (12g and 3g) can be arranged for maximum forgiveness (12g in the rear slot, for high stability) or draw bias (12g in the heel slot, to straighten a slice). The MAX is also available in a women’s and junior model.

Cobra Aerojet Fairway Woods - All Models

COBRA AEROJET FAIRWAY WOODS

Fairway Woods, for the most part, follow the lead of the driver. After all, we’re living in a world where the driver is the centre of the universe in any multi-club release.

However, Cobra AEROJET fairway woods deserve some airtime. What is true for the driver largely remains for the AEROJET Fairway Woods. But there is some fairway-centric tech that promotes performance off the short stuff, such as a PWRSHELL face cup and H.O.T. face.

AEROJET fairway woods have all the ingredients to help you shoot lower scores out on the course.

Fairway Woods Technology

Cobra Aerojet Fairway Tech - PWR Bridge

PWR-BRIDGE Weighting

Cobra’s suspended weight bridge pushes weight low and forward within the head for unhindered face flexibility, maximum energy transfer and red-hot ball speeds.

Cobra Aerojet Fairway Tech - HOT Face

PWRSHELL with H.O.T. Face

Cobra’s PWRSHELL face cup teams up with a new A.I.-inspired H.O.T. (highly optimised topology) face to produce effective spin and speed across the face.

Cobra Aerojet Fairway Tech - Carbon Crown

Carbon Crown

A raw carbon fibre crown increases playability and spin consistency via significant weight savings, with mass redistributed low and rearward in the head.

THREE AEROJET FAIRWAY MODELS

With three different models in the AEROJET fairway wood range, there are no more excuses! Customised flight, forgiveness and launch characteristics offer unique fairway wood performance – simply choose the one to suit your requirements.

AEROJET FAIRWAY

The AEROJET fairway wood is the most versatile of the three models, its high, straight ball flight designed to suit the vast majority of golfers. A single fixed back weight (12g) provides high-launching distance off the fairway combined with awesome forgiveness for off-centre strikes.

Cobra Aerojet Irons - All Models

COBRA AEROJET IRONS

When Cobra do distance, they really do distance. They go all in. A no holds barred, unrepentant pursuit of distance.

Bearing that in mind, it’s probably no surprise that the lofts on AEROJET irons are rather strong – as in 26.5˚ seven iron strong.

AEROJET irons are Cobra’s game improvement irons and at the heart of the irons’ game improving performance is a lump of metal that is floating inside the head. It’s known as PWR-BRIDGE weighting and its purpose is to drive the centre of gravity lower, providing more mass behind the sweet spot for additional pop. Because it’s not secured to the head in any way, it also serves the dual purpose of killing vibration to enhance feel and feedback.

Game improvement they may be but it’s not out of the realm of possibility that better players will be wanting a piece of the AEROJET iron action.

Australian Release Date: February 17, 2023

Cobra Aerojet Irons Tech - PWR Bridge

PWR-BRIDGE Weighting

A steel weight encased in a polymer filler increases face flex for extra distance, while also tuning the feel and acoustics of the irons.

Cobra Aerojet Irons Tech - PWRSHELL

PWRSHELL Face

A forged PWRSHELL face insert aids flexibility to increase speed across a wider area, leading to more consistent off-centre strikes.

Cobra Aerojet Irons -Tech- HOT Face

H.O.T. Face Design

The A.I. designed H.O.T. variable thickness face promotes an efficient transfer of energy at impact for a larger sweet spot.

TWO AEROJET IRON MODELS

Identical AEROJET Iron performance can be accessed in two different settings – select between standard Cobra AEROJET irons and Cobra’s AEROJET ONE Length iron model.

AEROJET IRONS

AEROJET irons maximise distance for the players who need it the most. A suite of game improvement technology is designed to eat up even the longest of courses, including a floating weight bridge design and PWRSHELL and H.O.T. face. But despite the game improvement bent, AEROJET irons have a surprisingly sleek and sophisticated head shape.
