If you liked the look and feel of Mizuno’s initial M.Craft putters, three new 2022 models will literally have you saying “OMOI goodness” - In a good way.

The new batch of Mizuno M.Craft putters, designated as the OMOI models, stick to a similar script to their predecessors, featuring the same soft 1025 steel forging and precision CNC-milled shapes and faces (no inserts required).

Yet they are set to redefine all expectations of stability and performance for a traditionally-shaped flatstick.

So what’s new, you might be wondering?

In short, OMOI putters are the Bryson DeChambeaus of the putter world: beefier, heavier and better, just without the bullying from Brooks Koepka.

HEAVYWEIGHTS OF THE GREEN

Mizuno have implemented an inverted Jenny Craig program for the OMOI range, with all three putter models gaining weight (we’ll get to those later).

The beefier putter heads came about after Mizuno’s testing confirmed heavier heads do indeed increase stability, or MOI, during a stroke – with the added benefit of a more satisfying impact feel off the face.

While shifting the CG around the putter head to maximise stability is nothing new, achieving impressive MOI numbers in such traditionally-shaped heads is.

It’s down to Mizuno’s holistic approach in the OMOI range, which embraces the putter as a whole: the weight of the shaft (KBS Tour) and grip (Lamkin OMOI Sink Fit Pistol) have also been altered to balance, and synchronise with, the new heavyweight head.

The weighting combination produces a subtle shift in the CG, which sees the face remain more stable throughout the putting stroke, to get the ball travelling straighter off the face and encourage more accurate putting.

And that, friends, is why you’ll be saying “OMOI goodness” as you CASH IN PUTT AFTER PUTT.

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

WEIGHT FOR IT…

Each Mizuno M.Craft OMOI putter comes with its very own sole weight kit, which can be used to finetune head weight.

A pair of 3g and 13g weights can be swapped in place of the 8g weights that are pre-fitted on the bottom of OMOI putters.

With such a wide variety of weighting options, golfers can tune the feel of their OMOI putter better than ever.
