Taylormade Truss Putters

When Tiger Woods tries out a new putter it’s bound to turn a few heads, which is exactly what happened at the Japan Skins game at Narashino Country Club in October.

The putter Eldrick was getting a feel for on the practice green was a prototype model of the new  TaylorMade Truss, which uses an ancient engineering principle to increase stability.

Truss is available in four models:

Truss TB1: Blade putter with heel-mounted Truss hosel. Features 16° of toe hang to suit arcing putting strokes.

Truss TB2: Face-balanced blade putter with centre-mounted Truss hosel. Suits straight back-and-through putting strokes.

Truss TM1: Mallet putter with heel-mounted Truss hosel. Features 10° of toe hang to complement strokes that open and shut the putter face.

Truss TM2: Face-balanced mallet with a centre-shafted Truss hosel. Is designed to match straight-back, straight-through putting strokes.

The New Truss Hosel

They’ve been used to hold things in place since Roman times, but to be honest there’s never been a more appropriate application of a truss until now.

TaylorMade Truss putters have a hosel that features the familiar two-contact point triangle shape that is frequently used in support structures such as roofs and bridges.

The Truss hosel is designed for stability and resists twisting at impact, leaving the putter face squarer for longer.

While it looks like quite a hefty structure from many angles, the Truss hosel is quite inconspicuous when viewed at address.

It blends into the topline of the two Truss putter heads, a traditional Anser-style blade and a modified mallet, with both available in toe hang and centre-shaft, face-balanced models.

PureRoll Insert And Sole Weighting

Also new on the TaylorMade Truss is a PureRoll face insert, in an eye-catching cobalt blue, that produces smooth roll and feedback-enhancing feel.

The Sole Weights in the Truss can be easily changed to personalise the head weight and feel while a new KBS C-Taper shaft is stiff flex and has less deflection during a putting stroke.
