The 'Extreme' Puma TitanTour Ignite Golf Shoe Review

I am going to start this by saying how much I love Golf Shoes. You can never have too many, or this is what I keep telling myself to make myself feel better, when adding the latest purchase to my ever growing Golf Shoe collection. Remarkably, I am also very picky with choosing the correct shoe and would be any retailers worst nightmare.

Why am I so picky? well I usually have my head down when playing golf, whether this is at address or just the general disappointment of my golf game (happens alot). So I do see my golf shoes alot!

Also if someone can test a pair of golf shoes to the extreme, then it is myself. The locations and terrains that I endure during a round of golf are unspeakable. With me usually crawling down the 18th with half a tree hanging out of my socks and maybe a loss of one of the shoes. So I think I would make a reasonably good shoe tester.

LETS GET TO IT!

I had the absolute pleasure of being able to take the new Puma Ignite shoes for a 'test drive'. Straight away I fell in love with the overall looks, bright attractive colours and sporty feel. Which is what Puma Golf is all about. But what is so different about the Ignites? If you look at the list of features to this shoe then your jaw may drop to the floor, as it is endless. So much technology is packed inside this shoe, to make it the best that Puma have ever created.

When I first put the shoes on I could not believe how comfortable and lightweight they were. Which is largely down to the TPU heel support and IGNITE foam (I did my homework). But the real test is on the course, so I approached the first tee with my sparkling white Ignites.

I could of stopped this review after the first hole, as I think the shoes did an amazing job to even stay on my feet. I hit my opening drive very well and could literally feel the lively energy transfer within the IGNITE foam when transferring weight from right to left. Unfortunately I got a little greedy and attempted to cut too much of the dog leg off, which then caught the top of the tree, resulting in my golf ball landed in Narnia. I remorsefully looked down towards my golf shoes and they knew exactly what they had got themselves into.

As I entered the jungle I could barely feel twigs, stones or any other loose impediments that would usually cause havoc to my feet. This over anything really impressed me as I feel this is usually a huge contributor to that 'burning fatigue' feeling at the end of round.

I did struggle to find my ball, but eventually stumbled across a little white spec in the long reeds. I could literally only see 2 or 3 of the golf balls dimples and would only allow the use of a wedge to hack it out. So I used a 4 iron! and somehow managed to get a lucky low flight under the jungle and back out into play. I had to stand on this loose grass and the grip of these shoes were faultless enabling me to play a miracle shot. As I walked out of the trees I expected to see most of hole number 1 under my shoes. But to my amazement there was nothing! I read up about this afterwards and the shoe does have a 'Debris-release sole' and it does work. Very impressed.

Somehow I managed to save my par with a nice pitch to about a foot and a 'tap in' for par. The rest of the round was relatively steady and drama free. During the Post round refreshments I sat and thought about these shoes, my feet could of gone out and completed at least another three rounds of golf and they supported me through the 'darkest' of golfing scenarios.

10/10 for the Puma Ignite Range. I think our Puma Rep requires these shoes back, so I may have 'lost them' during the round.
