Posted by GolfBox on 22nd Nov 2024
LPGA superstar Minjee Lee has been destined for major success ever since she turned pro back in 2014, winning her first event just a few months later. She has gone on to become a multiple major winner, claiming the 2021 Evian Championship in France before a dominant front-running performance at the US Women’s Open at Pine Needles Golf Club in North Carolina in June 2022.
In 2023, Minjee claimed her ninth LPGA title at the Kroger Queen City Championship in Cincinnati (Sep 07-10) before claiming her tenth title a few weeks later at the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea (Oct 19-22), a win that vaulted her back inside the world’s top five.
in 2024, Minjee Lee officially joined Callaway in February after previously using Srixon equipment. Her brother Min Woo Lee is also a Callaway PGA TOUR Professional. Minjee has four top 10 finishes in 2024.

MINJEE LEE DRIVER
CALLAWAY PARADYM Ai SMOKE MAX DRIVER (10.5°)
After playing the Triple Diamond model of Callaway’s Paradym Ai Smoke driver for most of the year, Minjee made the switch to the more forgiving MAX model late in 2024.
Minjee’s Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke MAX driver features a face designed by artificial intelligence. Analysing data from thousands of real golfers, A.I. positioned zones of forgiveness in the face where golfers really need it. The Ai-Smoke MAX driver also features a 15g adjustable perimeter weight that offers 19 yards of shot shaping correction. Minjee has the weight positioned for a slight draw bias.
OLD DRIVER: CALLAWAY Ai SMOKE TRIPLE DIAMOND DRIVER (10.5°)
Minjee made the switch to a Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond driver at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore in late February, her first start as a Callaway staffer.
The Triple Diamond is the most compact of the four Ai Smoke driver models and it gives Minjee the opportunity to shape and flight the ball off the tee. It is designed specifically for fast swing speeds, with its low-spin, low-launch characteristics an excellent match for Minjee’s elite ball striking. The face of the Ai Smoke driver was designed with the assistance of Callaway’s artificial intelligence. Data from thousands of real golfers was analysed to inject forgiveness in the zones of the face where golfers require it the most. It means Minjee’s Ai Smoke Triple Diamond is straighter and more forgiving, from anywhere on the face.
OLD DRIVER: SRIXON ZX7 MKII DRIVER (10.5°)
Minjee is one of the most consistent ball strikers on the LPGA tour and is a solid performer off the tee. She played a Srixon ZX7 Mk II driver, which features a more penetrating ball flight than Srixon’s other option in the driver line-up, the ZX5 MK II. Powering the ZX7 Mk II’s performance is Srixon’s rebound frame technology, a revolutionary system that distorts and flexes across multiple areas of the head and face at impact to focus energy into the ball. The ZX7 Mk II is Srixon’s longest ever driver, with significant ball speed and distance gains — particularly out of the sweet spot — making Minjee’s task off the tee much easier. A Mitsubishi Diamana DF 50 regular flex shaft is fitted to Minjee’s Srixon ZX7 Mk II driver.
MINJEE LEE FAIWAY WOOD
CALLAWAY Ai SMOKE MAX FAIRWAY (3W: 15°, 5W: 18°)
A pair of Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max fairway woods provides Minjee with plenty of versatility out on the course. The Ai Smoke Max fairway is built for forgiveness. It features a shallow face and produces a powerful, high-launching ball flight off the tee or from the fairway. Like the driver, the A.I.-designed face of the Ai Smoke Max fairway places pockets of forgiveness in the locations golfers have a tendency to find, increasing distance and consistency over the entire face. Minjee’s Ai Smoke Max fairway woods also feature a Tungsten Speed Cartridge on the sole. The high-density metal pushes the centre of gravity deep and low, which optimises spin and launch to maximise speed and distance.
OLD DRIVER: SRIXON ZX MKII FAIRWAY (3W 15°, 18°)
Minjee played a pair of Srixon ZX Mk II fairway woods in her bag which she uses off the tee and fairway. Her ZX Mk II fairway woods are powered by Srixon’s rebound frame technology which is responsible for the club’s high-launching distance. A Fujikura Ventus Red shaft features on Minjee’s three and five wood.
MINJEE LEE HYBRID
CALLAWAY Ai SMOKE HYBRID (18°)
Minjee uses a Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke hybrid as a long iron replacement. Merging iron and fairway wood technology, Lee’s Ai Smoke hybrid produces a high-launching trajectory that is ideal for holding greens — achieved through a Tungsten Speed Cartridge on the sole. A highly versatile club, the Ai Smoke hybrid’s compact head slides through thick rough with little resistance, which is a real asset when Minjee is playing tricked-up tour courses. Like her driver and fairway woods, the hybrid also features Callaway’s Ai Smart Face.
OLD HYBRID: SRIXON ZX MK II HYBRID (19˚)
Minjee used the Srixon ZX Mk II hybrid as a long iron replacement. The ZX Mk II hybrid is a blend of iron and fairway wood and offers a high-launching trajectory that is ideal for holding greens. It’s a versatile club and its ability to slide through thick rough with little resistance is a real asset. Minjee’s Srixon Mk II hybrid is fitted with a Graphite Design AD DI-85 shaft.
MINJEE LEE IRONS
CALLAWAY X-FORGED IRONS (4-PW)
After much testing in the off-season, Minjee decided on a set of Callaway X Forged irons for 2024. The Callaway X-Forged is a forged player’s iron, with feel and control the standout features. X-Forged irons feature a small muscleback behind the hitting zone but the peripheral weighting of the cavity back design gives the irons significant levels of forgiveness beyond the sweet spot. The irons feature a compact head shape, which aids Minjee’s capacity to shape the ball, while the sole of the irons is designed to produce crisp turf interaction at impact. Minjee’s Callaway X-Forged irons are only available in Japan.
OLD IRONS: SRIXON ZX7 MKII IRONS (5-PW)
Minjee used the Srixon’s ZX7 Mk II irons that are big on feel and workability - two essential ingredients for a player of Minjee’s calibre. The forged irons have been tweaked, with their small cavity-back design shifting mass behind the sweet spot and out to the perimeter. It makes ZX7 Mk II irons highly workable and provides a buttery soft feel off the face, with a new PureFrame design reducing undesirable vibrations. But the addition of high-density tungsten in the toe of Minjee’s 5-7 irons also makes them very forgiving for a player’s iron. With a thin top line and an elegant, compact profile, Srixon ZX7 Mk II irons complement Minjee’s elite ball striking perfectly.
MINJEE LEE WEDGES
CLEVELAND RTX6 ZIPCORE WEDGES (50˚, 54˚, 58˚)
After starting 2024 with a trio of Callaway JAWS RAW wedges in her bag, Minjee switched back to her previous Cleveland RTX6 ZipCore wedges.
The wedges give Minjee an abundance of options when pitching from the fairway, chipping greenside or blasting out of the sand. They are designed for better players, with the feel and feedback they provide a crucial characteristic for any elite player. But they also offer forgiveness via the new ZipCore design, a low-density core that acts like perimeter weighting.
OLD WEDGES: CALLAWAY JAWS RAW WEDGES (50˚, 54˚, 58˚)
Minjee’s legendary work ethic has seen her develop into one of the world’s best wedge players. She is lethal around the greens and in 2024, she will carry a trio of Callaway JAWS Raw wedges into battle. Minjee’s 52° wedge is an attacking weapon that she uses for full pitch shots into the green, while her 54° and 58° JAWS Raw wedges are employed more frequently around the greens and out of the sand.
JAWS Raw wedges feature a sharp leading edge and Callaway’s JAWS groove design, which increases friction with the cover of the ball to generate extra spin. The Raw refers to the wedge’s unplated face, which establishes a sharper groove radius and will rust over time. Minjee’s JAWS Raw wedges also feature an array of micro grooves milled into the face. The coarse texture is cut in between the grooves to offer extra grip and control — particularly when Minjee is playing open-faced shots.
MINJEE LEE PUTTER
ODYSSEY Ai ONE SQUARE 2 SQUARE DOUBLE WIDE PUTTER
Minjee switched to a new Odyssey Ai ONE Square 2 Square putter at the 2024 Tour Championship. The Square 2 Square is Odyssey’s zero torque range, which is uniquely balanced to remain in the toe-up position throughout a putting stroke.
Minjee’s Double Wide model is a heel-toe weighted blade. Its torque-free qualities naturally keep the putter face square to Minjee’s stroke path. The Square 2 Square Double Wide putter also features Odyssey’s Ai-ONE face insert, which standardises speed off the entire width of the putter face to help Minjee maintain consistent speed, even on off-centre strikes.
OLD PUTTER: ODYSSEY Ai ONE MILLED THREE T PUTTER
Minjee made the switch to an Odyssey Ai ONE Milled putter in early 2024. Her Three T model is a blade/mallet hybrid, fitted with a slant neck hosel. With 44° of toe hang, the Odyssey Three T offers Minjee plenty of head rotation through her stroke.
Odyssey Ai ONE Milled putters are crafted from a single piece of 303 stainless steel. A milled titanium insert on the face offers the inimitable feel unique to a milled putter. Hidden on the rear of the titanium face insert is Odyssey’s A.I.-designed topography. The architecture creates consistent roll and speed off the putter face, which should help Minjee sink more putts out on tour.
OLD PUTTER: SCOTTY CAMERON CIRCLE T NEWPORT 2
She used the tour-issue Scotty Cameron Circle T Newport 2 putter, which is very similar to the retail version called the Special Select Newport 2. It is a classic blade style putter with a balanced tungsten sole and the trademark Scotty Cameron red screws on the back cavity. The Newport 2 is a toe hang putter with a full shaft of offset and is a popular choice among tour players.
MINJEE LEE GOLF BALL
2024 CALLAWAY CHROME TOUR X GOLF BALL
Minjee’s Callaway Chrome Tour X golf ball features the highest spin rate of any ball in the 2024 Chrome range. With a compression of 98, the Chrome Tour X offers Minjee a firm feel off the club face but also offers an abundance of stopping power on the greens. It provides Minjee with complete control over her spin rate and trajectory, from driver through to wedge.
