PING G425 Range of Golf Clubs

PING G425 Range of Golf Clubs

Posted by GolfBox on 7th Sep 2020

When PING push the button on a new club release, you can always assume “new” means "new and significantly improved".

The PING engineering philosophy decrees that a new product must be considerably better than its predecessor – if it’s not, PING send it back to the drawing board until it is.

For golfers, it’s a fairly iron-clad guarantee that lower scores and better performance will inevitably result when PING’s latest clubs go in the bag – a scenario that is certainly the case with the new PING G425 series.

The G425 family is an entire suite of clubs dedicated to improving the games of every golfer, regardless of skill level, and providing a straightforward path to better, and more enjoyable, golf.

Drivers

Three models enhance forgiveness and distance for a range of skill levels and swing tendencies.

Woods & Hybrids

Longer and higher launching while also offering exceptional performance on low strikes on the face.

Irons

A new flexible face design boosts ball speeds and optimises launch for effortless distance.

PING G425 DRIVERS

Pounding the driver long and straight is one of the joys of golf and PING’s G425 driver line-up is geared to make those special moments more frequent.

PING have taken the best tech from their G400 MAX and G410 PLUS driver and combined it into the G425 driver. The result?

The most forgiving driver in golf!

PING offer three versions of the new G425 driver, the Max, LST (Low Spin Technology) and SFT (Straight Flight Technology). Each driver model features slightly different performance traits to match a golfer’s swing characteristics and tendencies. It means every golfer will find a G425 driver to their liking.

PING G425 Driver Tech - TI-95+ Face

ULTRA FAST FACE

A forged titanium face boosts ball speeds from all areas of the face, translating into effortless distance. The Ti-9S+ face is manufactured using PING’s proprietary forging process, which makes it highly flexible for ultra-fast ball velocities off the clubface.

PING G425 Driver Tech - Weight

HIGH MOI DESIGN

PING have made G425 drivers the most stable and forgiving in golf. The centre of gravity has been shifted lower and further rearward in the drivers’ head without affecting performance, achieved through precision tungsten weighting on the perimeter.

PING G425 Driver Tech - Dragonfly & Turbulators

HI-TECH CROWN

PING’s lightweight Dragonfly crown enables weight to be shifted low in the clubhead to enhance forgiveness. The crown also has turbulators positioned just behind the clubface to reduce aerodynamic drag and increase clubhead speed during the downswing.

THREE PING G425 DRIVERS

The G425 driver is available in three models, with each producing specific launch and flight characteristics to suit differing skill and spin requirements. The drivers feature an eight-way adjustable hosel to customise loft and lie angle.

Featuring the highest MOI of the three new PING drivers, the G425 MAX has been designed for maximum forgiveness.
PING have managed to increase MOI by 14 per cent in the G425 compared to the previous G410 Plus driver, making it golf’s undisputed champion driver in forgiveness terms.

The 460cc head features a movable 26g tungsten weight on the back of the head which can be set in three positions - draw, fade or neutral – to create flight bias. The MAX is high-launching and is the most versatile of the three PING G425 drivers. It is available in 9°, 10.5° and 12° lofts.

The LST is the low-spin version of the G425 and its smaller 445cc head features a more pear-shaped form.
It is suited to high swing speeds, with its capacity to reduce spin by 500-700rpm compared to the G425 MAX resulting in a more penetrating ball flight.

With a movable 17g tungsten perimeter weight, it can also produce a draw or fade bias and is available in lofts of 9° and 10.5°.

Designed to straighten up wayward tee shots, the G425 SFT is the driver that combats the all-too common slice.
A fixed 26g tungsten weight helps shut the face at impact, with up to 25 yards of right-to-left correction on offer compared to the G425 MAX driver.

Available in only a 10.5° model, the SFT will prevent the fanned face that causes a slice and get you finding the fairway again.

PING G425 FAIRWAY WOODS & HYBRID

PING have delivered a stack of options with their new G425 fairway woods, which, like their driver counterparts, offer MAX, LST and SFT models.

They are all longer and higher launching while also offering exceptional performance on low strikes on the face – a particularly helpful attribute for shots off the deck. PING have also engineered more consistent spin rates into the new G425 fairway woods and hybrids, while increasing forgiveness through tungsten sole weighting.

The extensive variety of G425 fairway woods and hybrids will help golfers fill any problematic distance gap that exists in their bag.

PING G425 Fairway Tech - Steel Face

STEEL FACE WRAP

Wrapping directly into the crown, the new face is thinner and more flexible to increase ball speed and elevate distance.

PING G425 Fairway Tech - Face Curvature

FACE CURVATURE

A new roll profile is responsible for greater consistency of spin across the face, with low strikes gaining spin and distance.

PING G425 Fairway Tech - Sole Weighting

SOLE WEIGHTING

PING have positioned a tungsten weight at the rear of the sole for across-the-board gains in MOI and forgiveness.

The most versatile fairway wood in the G425 line-up, the MAX has been tuned to produce more ball speed and distance, with an increase of 15mph and 4.5 yards compared to the previous PING G410 STD fairway wood.

The MAX is available in 3, 5, 7 and 9-wood models.

PING G425 LST Fairway - Profile Toe

PING G425 LST FAIRWAY WOOD

As the low-spin model in PING’s G425 fairway wood range, the LST will appeal to players with high swing speeds who require a lower, more penetrating ball flight.

The LST is only available in a 3-wood loft of 14.5°

PING G425 SFT FAIRWAY WOOD

The SFT fairway wood is the draw-biased, anti-slice model. It has a larger head and its centre of gravity is closer to the heel to help square the face at impact.

The SFT comes in 3, 5 and 7-wood lofts.

PING G425 SFT Fairway - Profile Toe

Versatile in all situations out on the course, PING G425 hybrids will prove popular as fairway finders, long iron replacements or distance-gap fillers.

There are six models to choose from, with a new 7-hybrid joining PING’S previous 2-6 hybrids.

PING G425 IRONS & CROSSOVER

PING have created some of the most legendary and memorable irons in the game and the new G425 irons look set to have their name added in golf leaf on the company’s honour roll of performance irons.

PING G425 irons are set to redefine the distance iron category with their highly-tuned performance, which was made possible by embracing new concepts and the introduction of several new technologies.

The NEW technology greatly increases face flexing for measurable ball speed gains that launch shots higher and farther with the stopping power to hold greens.

PING G425 Irons - Tech VFT Face

VFT FACE

Borrowing from PING’s fairway wood face design, the new variable thickness face employed on PING G425 irons has resulted in the highest ever ball speeds produced in a PING G series iron.

PING G425 Irons - Tech New Weighting

NEW WEIGHTING

Tungsten weights screwed into the toe and embedded heelside within the hosel have made G425 irons more forgiving, despite a shorter and more playable blade length.

PING G425 Irons - Tech Cavity Badge

CAVITY BADGE

PING have included a multi-material cavity badge on G425 irons that damps vibrations at impact to enhance feel and improve strike acoustics.

PING weren’t content with their new G425 irons being “just irons” so they injected some fairway wood tech into their DNA to create the most user-friendly distance iron in the game.

The new irons get a fairway wood-style face, which has much greater flexibility than PING’s previous iron faces to generate extra speed and distance across every inch of the face.

PING G425 irons also create a higher flight apex and steeper descent angle to increase stopping power on the greens.

And PING were also keen to mix up the whole “distance iron” thing too, so they made the blade length of the chrome finish G425 irons shorter but managed to improve the stability by adding heel and toe weighting.

Sharing the same face technology and distance enhancing qualities as their G425 iron colleagues, G425 Crossover irons will fit seamlessly into any set.

The hollow-bodied long irons are easy to launch and offer effortless distance and extreme forgiveness through the inclusion of tungsten weights in the toe and heel.

Crossover irons come in three lofts (2, 3, 4) and can fill a distance void in the bag when needed. They are coated in a water-repellent black stealth finish.
